Lovely, how it’s Friday again.
I’ve been waiting all week for this day, if only because I know that tomorrow I get to sleep in. I’m still a bit sicky–I stayed home from school again, even though I went to work. I’m really tired of feeling like my eardrums are trying to rub up on one another.
Anyway, got my webcam last night, so of course it means a new vidcast. I’m shooting for one a week now, since it’s literally like minutes from when I shoot it to when I upload it. Which is just awesome for my quick and dirty lifesyle.
So, that’s it. I’m looking forward to the weekend, unless it brings me an earache, and then I’ll be very very bitter.

I don’t usually do anything internet-wise for Valentines Day, since previously? Not so many of the internet friends. But this year, I’ve got a mess of them, and I thought I’d do a video for a few of my favorites.
I didn’t do everyone I like, because really, that would be more like an awards show thank-you reading. So I opted to stick with four guys that I like emensley.
A few of them have also done Internet Valentines. Josue waxes philosophical on the holiday and how it’s silly. Of course it’s silly. That’s why we still enjoy it. Josh talks about the mass quantity of snow, and blames my stalkerishness for the reason behind his video. And he offers himself up as valentine for all those ladies out there.
I haven’t heard back from Bryan Veloso, and Rich is balking on the whole video idea. I think he’s just bitter that I’m not only his valentine.
I want to see everyone’s internet valentines. So, video-up, please! And leave a link to where we can all see it.
So, the laptop is back, and danger has been averted. However, I’m much more leary about the whole thing. A near-harddrive crash will do that to a girl. Thank god the tech kept looking for a problem when first glance showed him nothing was wrong. He mirrored the HD, and saved everything but the unsaved post I had open when the computer crashed between classes last Tuesday.
I got it back on Friday with a new harddrive (are those ever under warranty in a Dell?), and between school and work, I just haven’t been able to pull myself together enough to formulate some sort of posting schedule.
Since I seem to be in a writing funk, I thought we’d fall back on the old stand-by, quick and dirty1 film. It helps that Josue has been asking for it every day since I’ve got the laptop back.
So the vidcast is just me filming the interior of my house, and me rambling on about it. It’s not very good, and I filmed at around 11pm at night, after my parents went to bed, so it’s a bit dark.
If there is ever a place you want me to video (I’ve already gotten a request for work, and school), drop me a line and let me know. I always want to see places where people grew up at, or spend all their time at, so if there is something in my life you want to see, let me know.
And I promise, I’m working on a real post for tomorrow. I’ve got quite a few post-topics floating around my head, besided the Blog Club post that’s due by the end of the week.

- Quick and dirty refers to the taping / editing process, not that it’s a dirty video [back]
I had IRC withdrawls today. Classes started this morning, and at 8:30, I was wondering what was going on in IRC. I missed everyone, and really would have rather been talking to people than sitting in Math.
The only really good news is that they finally have wifi on campus this year. It’s only in the library, quad, and cafeteria, but that’s better than nowhere. And it’s probably good that there is no access in class, because I would be in IRC instead of listening to the lecture.
Since today was just the “go over the course outline,” I don’t really have much to talk about. Lucky for everyone else, I filmed a VidCast over the weekend, which is ready to be viewed.
It’s quick and dirty, with virtually no editing. I mangled Josue’s name like the horrible gringa that I am, and I feel super horrible about it. I didn’t know what to do with the “u” in his name because I forgot that I took three years of Spanish.
So Josue, I’m really sorry. Really. I hope you can forgive me.
Moving on, the VidCast is a tour of my backyard, and the creek. I managed to lock myself in the creek, and then scare the crap out of myself when I nearly ran into a spiderweb. I talked for about half an hour, and the VidCast was easier than a PodCast. Probably because I had something to talk about when I had nothing to talk about.
Since I’m back at school now, I think everyone can look forward to daily posts once more. After all, I have to find a way to avoid my homework somehow.

If anyone was keeping count, we’re on number four, and we’ve reached the point in the program where in I have stopped the editing. I did not edit any of my recording, other than trying to ensure that everything is approximately at the same level of volume. Listening to it with my volume bar dead center on the laptop give me a not-too-loud podcast that is doesn’t have too many volume jumps.
The content for this podcast is rather tame. I spend a little bit of time on my birthday next month, more time on things I hate to see in public, and I spill the beans on a super-secret project with a super-secret name that I won’t spill because I haven’t bought the domain name yet.
There is music in this podcast, but most likely You won’t like it. Good thing it’s my podcast, huh? The music also has nothing to do with the podcast, but I thought it’d be a good way to break up the podcast into parts. As always, I’m open to suggestions for what to include as music (must be podsafe, as always), and I’ll check it out.
Music Included
- Uma Floresta – If You’re Singing By Yourself
- Circle in a Square - Feels Like a Sunday
- Ocean Alexander – Pertinent not Penitent
All music downloaded from Pod Safe Audio, and so you are welcome to download them as well.
That’s all I have for you. No links or anything, because I didn’t talk about anything link-able. As always, I welcome comments, either here, or you can leave me a voice comment through Odeo.
Now, any bets on how long until the next podcast?

I only wrote about submitting for round 4 once, and I fully didn’t expect to get in, so this is an honor I really didn’t think I was going to get.
I don’t really have much to say about the podcast, other than that I’m sure my excitement comes through. I did tell my Mum and Dustin about getting in, and while they don’t really understand it (not a big surprise there), they’re both happy for me.
Other new 9rulers I’m happy to join in with:
- Ben Gray of OpenSwitch
- Derek Punsalan of 5ThirtyOne
- Lorelle VanFossen of Lorelle on WordPress
However, there is one site I’m surprised didn’t make it in this round, because I thought she was a shoo in, definitely over me. Kristen Pishdadi is a great writer with far more interesting content than I do, and her photo blog leaves me drooling. Hopefully she’ll get in next round, if she still wants it.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Kinda.
Alright, I’m working on a super-secret project with a classmate, and as soon as I figure out the schematics of how it’s going to work, I’ll post the info here. But, like I said. Super secret. Because if it falls through, I don’t want anyone laughing at me.

So, I present my second podcast, complete with music, and randomness up the ass. This podcast clocks in at just over 30 minutes, and it took me about two hours to go through and edit it and remove all the um’s and uh’s that I say when I loose my train of thought. Also, I didn’t realize I breathed very loud, and I tried to cut that out as well.
Randomness is the name of the game, and I cover a bad idea (as in, I’m not genius when it comes to Math), questions people think but never ask, and a retelling of how I annoy the guys in class with me. Also, the obligatory digression is included, and I even noted it when it happened.
I’m feeling a little iffy with the sound, I’m not sure if it’s too loud or not, because everyone’s systems are different. I would appreciate it if people would comment, and let me know how I did, and whether it should be louder or quieter.
Music Included
- Ocean Alexander – Mad World, from the album Belmont.
- Ocean Alexander – Intro to Psyche, from the album Belmont.
- Ocean Alexander – Kid Icarus, from the album This Island Life.
- Ocean Alexander – Drinking Heart, from the album Tricked Out.
- Podsafe Audio – where I found Ocean Alexander.
Other Links
- Naked photos of Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy (see, sometimes I will do the searching for you. Not that I wanted to see these.)
So, that’s what’s up for today. As always, you can leave me a comment through Odeo, and let me know how useless this whole endeavor is.
Also, I’ve received confirmation from You that he and I will be producing a podcast together as soon and we work out the semantics. Mostly, whether or not Skype will work with my crap dial-up. Look forward to a podcast all about sex coming soon. Should be interesting.

Ah, after a weekend of breaking promises left and right, I do finally present to you my very first podcast.
Warning: It’s rather crappy. I had a sore throat while recording it, so it’s rather raspy. Which I suppose is an improvement over being overly nasally, which is my natural range. I decided just to go forward with it, or I’d never get it done. Also, minimal edits, or again, it would never get done. The podcast is about 25–30 minutes long, wherein I ramble on about nothing. At the moment, I can hardly remember what I talked about. I think I made vague mentions to other podcasts, and probably school, but other than that, it’s a big blank.
When I get home tonight, I’ll try to listen to it again, and figure out what linkage I should be throwing up here.
As always, leave me a comment, either here or through Odeo, and it will probably help me figure out what I’ll be doing next time.
And yes, there will be a next time. Even if no one ever listens, I’ll still be here, rambling on about stuff no one wants to listen too.
- KnitCast PodCast
- Pointy Sticks PodCast
- Christopher got a shoutout, so it’s only fair he gets a link.
- Michael over at Binary Bonsai, and how I listen to his podcast even while I think it’s slightly boring.
- Fall Out Boy, and their MySpace page (I shutter that I had to link to MySpace just so people who have never heard them can download a song).
- Coming Soon: Concert photos taken by K.
Oh, and always, please please leave me a comment through Odeo. It’ll help me figure what’s coming next.
