Unsympathetic
Easily distracted by shiny things.

I’m sure many people already know this, but Bryan Veloso is a God. Seriously.

He is absolutly the most kindhearted person I’ve ever met on the internet, and he’s so quick to give back to everyone else. Case in point: Nyxsis-Ro. He loves playing Ragnarok, and decided to offer a free game server to whoever else wanted to play.

But, Nyxsis is old news.

Today, Veloso is a God because he saved my server. My previous host just upped and died on me with no prior warning, and I was flipping out in IRC because I didn’t know what I was going to do.

Bryan stepped up, and offered me free hosting for the time being, until I can amass enough money, and do enough research, to find a host that I’ll be able to stick with in the long run. He’s answered my questions, and is always available when I need him.

And when I break things, he fixes them so fast I almost think he’s magic.

So, this is a huge thank-you to Bryan, because with out him, things wouldn’t be traveling along as swimmingly as they are now. One less stress during finals week is a great present in deed.

Notice: This is a paid review for The Scholarship Blog.

Sometimes, I wonder why I don’t run across things that seem like they should be right in my path.

So, I’m going to Chico State next year (which I just happen to like talking about with whoever will listen) and I’m very paranoid about how I’m going to pay for it. I’ve got notices coming into my inbox everyday from FastWeb regarding new scholarships, and when I get a bit of time, I surf random scholarship stuff.

This is where The Scholarship Blog comes in. After checking out, I have to say that it’s definitely getting added to the feed reader. It’s a blog about scholarships, obviously, but it’s so much more than that.

Every post is well written, which puts the reader in mind more of a journalistic site than an ordinary blog. There are no quickly jotted posts here. Everything is well thought out and well explained, so that the average person can easily understand what is being discussed. They also cover more than just a list of scholarships up for grabs.

Topics range from admissions to student loans, to related breaking news in the college world. For example, one of their latest posts is about a grade-fixing scheme at LaGuardia Community College in New York.

To top it off, there are sections of the site devoted to grants, loans, scholarships, and standardized tests. Each section contains valuable resources for each topic important to prospective and current college students alike.

Overall, if you’re on the lookout for scholarships, or financial related information for college, The Scholarship Blog should be on your short list of must-visit sites. All the news you need condensed in one easy-to navigate site.

I’m in the library, writing a long post about a poem analysis–which in all luck will be making an appearance in a day or two–and there is one random thought that keeps pumping through my head, disrupting the flow of words.

Dang it, I’m freezing.

Of course, I’m not literally freezing, but it feels like I am. There seems to be some rule that the campus can’t turn on any heaters when students are present. It’s cold in all my classes. I have to layer up, and I nearly never take my heavy coat off if I can help it.

In the english classrooms, it’s colder inside than it is in the hallways. In fact, depending on where one is stitting, it’s possible to feel the airconditioner still blowing on you. Good thing the air vent isn’t right above my desk.

Sitting on the third floor of the library, near the windows so that I can have a poweroutlet for my laptop, I can look down on all the students walking between classes. And I don’t understand who so many of them can be without coats. I get cold just looking at someone with bare arms. It seems so unfair to me, as they seem to be oblivious to the cold.

The only good thing going today is that it’s not overcast, and it’s not windy, so hopefully I won’t freeze when I venture out for lunch with my friend in an hour or so.

But tonight, when I walk home from the bus stop? I’m sure it will be both, which will chill me to the bone until I crawl into bed. I hate being cold.

Odd then, that winter is my favorite season.

I’ve got things brewing in my head, things that need to be written about, things that should be discussed, things that need to be shown.

I’m looking forward to geting my Christmas present from Dustin in a few days–he’s been kind enough to get me a new digital camera, so when that comes I’m sure there will be an influx of new flickr photos to share with everyone.

And until I some how pull all my stray thoughts together, I’ll be doing what I do best. Procrastinating, and playing “Sponge Bob Square Pants the Movie: the Video Game” on the PS2 that Dustin only thinks I’m borrowing from him. And why do I suck so bad at this game?

Just so everyone knows, I did not win NaNoWriMo this year. In fact, I gave up after about 12,000 words. I still plan on writing the story, but I should know by now that November is never going to be a good month for me. At least ME didn’t win either.
